Irish Grain Assurance Scheme

The aims of the Irish Grain Assurance Scheme are to establish internationally recognised standards for the growing, handling, storage and transport of Irish grain and to reassure the customer that grain produced by members of the Scheme meets these standards. This will be achieved through the operation of recording and audit systems. The benefits accruing will be enhanced consumer confidence and maintenance and expansion of markets.

The aims of IGAS are to:

  1. Administer IGAS to the highest standards of efficiency
  2. Conduct IGAS Assessments in a thorough, constructive and fair manner
  3. Observe strict confidentiality in our dealings with IGAS members
  4. Communicate regularly with IGAS members and respond to their suggestions
  5. Encourage the ongoing development of IGAS to meet the changing needs of the industry
  6. Achieve the highest possible standards without undue cost to members
  7. Promote Assured Irish grain as the safest ingredient
  8. Enhance Ireland's reputation as a producer of the finest food and drink
  9. Make Assured Irish grain the first choice for all quality markets
